Investigates, evaluates, and negotiates settlements of multi-line insurance claims in a specifically assigned field territory and assists on special assignments.
Special Training, Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required
Four-year college degree and/or business background; legal knowledge or ability to learn; mechanical/construction aptitude or ability; oral and written communication skills; ability to deal effectively with the public in stressful situations. Maintain CE in compliance with N.C. Department of Insurance and N.C. Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company requirements.
Major Duties of Position
Verify coverage on loss assignments.
Appraise damages (property and personal injury).
Investigate losses and apply policy coverage.
Determine legal liability for losses.
Effect payment or denial of claims.
Report on details of claims in various stages of development.
Manage/control expenses and company equipment.
Attend various meetings/classes on behalf of the company.
Qualifications for Senior Field Adjuster
Recommendation from the Regional Claim Manager and District Claims Manager.
Five years service as a Field Adjuster with N.C. Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company.
Satisfactory completion of all four (4) sections for the AIC designation and INS 22 & 23 offered by the Insurance Institute of America.
Successfully pass tests on contracts written by the company.
Successfully pass tests on general claims knowledge, company background and organization information.
