Policy Analyst
General Definition
To analyze and process fire, automobile, farm, and/or commercial policies including new business and policy changes to existing policies via data entry into a policy processing system(s).
Special Training, Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required
Prefer four year college degree or high school graduate.
Able to successfully complete the data entry test with net keystrokes per hour of 6000 or more with an accuracy ratio of 95% or higher accuracy rate.
Demonstrate logical and analytical ability.
Ability to work independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Major Duties of Position
Review applications/changes to ensure that all required information is available for rating and coding, if applicable, and entry into the policy processing systems.
Correspond with agency force for required information, and document accordingly.
Analyze and enter new business and rewrite applications into the applicable processing system.
Rate and complete code sheet and/or endorsement for manually issued policy changes and new business.
Analyze and enter policy changes, cancellations, and reinstatements into the appropriate processing system.
Analyze and process Client database changes according to departmental procedures and guidelines.
Learn various computer applications needed to perform job duties.
Attain proficient knowledge of the different entry criteria required for specific coverages.
Research past activities on policies in order to determine the best future course of action.
Maintain weekly production reports and submit to management by specified deadlines.
Become knowledgeable of the company policies, procedures, and work flows that are applicable to the lines of business handled by the respective policy service unit.
Maintain an organized workstation and filing system.
Assist other home office personnel when the need occurs.
