Policy Analyst
General Definition
To analyze and process fire/automobile policies including new business and policy changes to existing policies via data entry into a mainframe system.
Special Training, Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required
Prefer four year college degree or high school graduate.
Able to successfully complete the data entry test with net keystrokes per hour of 4000 or more with an accuracy ratio of 90% or higher.
Demonstrate logical and analytical ability.
Ability to work independently.
Major Duties of Position
Analyze and enter new business/rewrite policy applications to establish policyholder computer records.
Analyze and enter policy changes, cancellations, and reinstatements to computer system.
Analyze and process Client database changes according to departmental procedures and guidelines.
Process and enter miscellaneous policyholder transactions.
Become knowledgeable of the company policies and procedures, including work flows.
Assist other home office personnel when the need occurs.
Maintain weekly production reports and submit to management by specified deadlines.
Cross-train in other policy service areas as necessary.
Learn various computer applications needed to perform job duties.
Attain proficient knowledge of all computer screens applicable to the appropriate lines of business handled by the respective policy service section.
Attain proficient knowledge of coverages and rating of appropriate lines of business handled by the respective policy service section.
Other duties as deemed necessary or as developed and assigned by Operations management.
