Perform secretarial and administrative duties in the maintenance of claims files and operation of the DCO. Assist DCM, adjusters, and field examiner in the daily operation of the DCO.
Special Training, Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required
Preferably college or business degree, or comparable business experience, familiarity with CRT and PC desired, ability to conduct business in appropriate manner with clients by telephone or in person. Dependable, responsible person able to work independently and work well with others.
Major Duties of Position
Open, date stamp, and direct incoming mail to appropriate adjuster.
Set up file for new claims received.
Enter all new claims into claim log, enter on database.
File claims received electronically.
Receive incoming phone calls and take loss reports, messages, etc.
Close files on claims log as requested by adjuster.
Generate form letters as requested.
Assist Field Examiner and DCM in daily claims operations.
Assist in handling glass claims when needed.
Process outgoing mail.
Schedule adjuster's appointments if necessary.
Assist adjusters in "preliminary" claims handling such as ordering police/theft reports, ordering appraisals, etc.
Do PMS entry and correct errors when needed.
Issue stop payments on checks as necessary.
Cross-train and assist Examiner as requested by DCM.
