About Us

At North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance, we take pride in our strong, community-oriented roots that began right here in North Carolina. In 1953, our company was born out of the need to provide insurance coverage to our farmers and rural communities. Now, with local offices in each of the 100 counties, we provide services to all North Carolinians across the state. Here at NCFB we are a familiar face in the community with a service oriented mindset that truly sets us apart. Guided by our mission, we are deeply committed to both our neighbors and employees. Helping you is what we do best! If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact and value a people-centered culture, we invite you to join us!

About the Role

North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance is undergoing a digital transformation, migrating from legacy core systems (Contact, Policy, Billing, and Claims) to a modern Policy Administration System (PAS). This new infrastructure will serve as the primary engine for our financial, accounting, actuarial and marketing reporting and analytics. We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Quality Analyst to ensure the absolute integrity of our data during this mission-critical transition.

  • Data Querying & Manipulation - Advanced SQL: Proficiency in writing complex queries (Joins, Unions, Subqueries) to extract and compare data from disparate relational databases.

  • Validation & Automation Tools - Modern Test Frameworks: Experience collaborating with automation tools (e.g., Katalon Opkey).

  • Participate in Agile-based project workflows using Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage tasks, track deliverables, and ensure timely execution of data quality initiatives.

  • Financial/Insurance Logic: (Preferred) Understanding of premium calculations, billing cycles, or claims reserves logic to ensure "business sense" during validation.

Location and Commitments

  • Position is located in Raleigh, NC and applicant must live in North Carolina.

  • Hybrid work from home policy after training period (three days per week in-office required).

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Test Strategy: Collaborate closely with the Test Automation Team to design, develop, and refine robust test cases specifically for data integrity.

    • Reporting Integrity: Validate that the system-generated data meets the downstream requirements for Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, and Marketing reporting systems.

    • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track data discrepancies, working with developers to resolve ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) or logic issues.

  • What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • Analytical Mindset: A self-motivated approach to hunting down data anomalies in large datasets.

    • Technical Synergy: Experience working alongside automation teams (familiarity with SQL or data validation tools is a plus).

    • Precision: An uncompromising eye for detail, especially regarding financial and billing data.
